Ukrainians expect not declarations from the state, but real mechanisms for punishing corruption. This is evidenced by the results of a study conducted by the Think Ukraine analytical center.
Citizens see the inevitability of accountability as the key condition for reducing corruption.
Survey findings
- 43.0% consider the inevitability of punishment the main anti-corruption mechanism.
- 28.4% support stronger public oversight.
- 27.7% believe legislative changes are necessary.
- 19.1% support expanding the powers of NABU, SAPO, and NACP.
- 8.5% are convinced that no measures will be able to reduce the level of corruption.
What this means: society sees the main problem not as the absence of laws, but as weak enforcement. Public demand for justice and real accountability remains extremely high.
What should be taken into account: without demonstrating real accountability, even the most high-profile anti-corruption campaigns risk losing public trust.
