Most Ukrainians Do Not Plan to Leave the Country After the War

Articles

Despite the war and the difficult economic situation, most Ukrainians do not plan to leave the country after the borders reopen. These are the findings of a study conducted by the Think Ukraine analytical center.

At the moment, there is no large-scale public sentiment toward post-war emigration.

Key findings

• 69.8% do not plan to leave Ukraine at all.
• 18.4% do not plan to leave unless the situation significantly worsens.
• Only 3.2% openly say they plan to emigrate.
• 6.8% would like to leave, but have no concrete plans.

What this means

Despite war fatigue and constant stress, most Ukrainians still associate their future with Ukraine.

What should be taken into account

The key factor in retaining the population after the war will be security and economic stability. These factors will determine whether these attitudes remain sustainable over time.
