Even after years of living abroad, most Ukrainians continue consuming Ukrainian informational content. This is reflected in the findings of a study conducted by the Think Ukraine analytical center.
Even while adapting to new countries, Ukrainians maintain a strong informational connection with Ukraine.
Research figures
- 89.6% get news from Ukrainian sources on social media (Telegram, YouTube, Facebook).
- 25.5% regularly read Ukrainian media outlets.
- 23.5% use foreign social media sources.
- Only 13.1% use Russian-language sources on social media.
- 4.5% consume Russian-language media.
What this means: even after several years abroad, Ukrainians remain engaged in Ukraine’s information space. This demonstrates the preservation of emotional and social ties with their home country.
What should be considered: Ukrainian informational content abroad remains an important tool for maintaining connections with citizens who left the country during the war.
